Kenner Professional Review and Guide
"It wasn't until after World War II that Kenner began changing from a sleepy rural town into a bustling suburban bedroom community. Today, with a population of more than 82,000, Kenner is the fifth-largest city in Louisiana as well as one of the most innovative and energetic cities in the region. Although it’s one of the shortest Day Trips from New Orleans, Kenner is also one of the most interesting, primarily for its Rivertown museum district—located in what was once the original heart of the old city as laid out by founder Minor Kenner.
Visitors will find more than a half dozen museums tucked among a few restaurants and even an art gallery. Compact and easy to walk, Rivertown and its museums are ideal for families with young children. There’s even a Children’s Castle that stages magic and puppet shows designed for kids age five and older. There is a fee for admission to each museum, but if you plan to visit more than one museum, consider a budget-stretching pay-one-price pass, available at any of the museums."
