The Narrows

The Narrows Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Here, the Sheltowee Trace passes through the busier reaches of Natural Bridge State Park, leaving the proper confines of the park and entering the adjoining Natural Bridge Nature Preserve, part of Kentuckys statewide nature preserve system. The Narrows are in this preserve.

So what are the Narrows? A slender exposed rock ridge that drops off on both sides, offering an open vista of the surrounding scenery. Far below this rock feature are streams that helped cut the steep-sided Narrows. From the stone perch you can look out east and west. Along the way, hikers will pass the famous Natural Bridge for which the state park is named. Outstanding Features: Views, Natural Bridge, and solitude beyond Natural Bridge"
