Daniel Boone National Forest, Salt Lick— Clay Lick Boat-In

Daniel Boone National Forest, Salt Lick— Clay Lick Boat-In Professional Review and Guide

"The big advantage of this campground is that you can put a boat in at the ramp and pull your boat to the bank near your campsite. This is no-frills camping. However, the setting is as scenic as it gets: the forest to your back and Cave Run Lake to your front. The beauty of this setting is hard to put into a few words.

This is a boat-in or walk-in campground; there is a parking lot about 0.5 mile from the camping area, and you can walk the short distance from the parking lot to your campsite. The campground is located along the shore near the Clay Lick boat ramp, and all twenty sites offer waterfront camping. A recreation pass is required and can be obtained from the USDA Forest Service information station located on KY 801 as you enter the area."
