Hanging Rock ATV/OHM Trail System Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This is one of the “dispersed” camping areas on Wayne National Forest, which means there is no campground with designated sites and amenities. It is very popular, though. Two groups in particular congregate here. All-terrain vehicle riders love this area because of its many trails, some of them challenging. This area was extensively strip-mined in the 1960s and ’70s. It’s been reclaimed since, though steep slopes remain. Twenty-four miles of trails for all terrain vehicles and off-highway motorcycles wind around and up and down those hills, drawing lots of riders. Sportsmen also visit the Hanging Rock area with consistency. There are dozens and dozens of ponds open to fishing, ranging in size from one-half to 7 acres. Those closest to roads get fished the hardest; some in remote areas hardly ever see an angler."
