Star Chamber Tour Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This evening Mammoth Cave journey follows one of the earliest tour routes. You can retrace footsteps of those who toured America’s second oldest attraction over the past two centuries. Tour takers ages 6 and up leave the visitor center and walk to the Historic Entrance. Enter the cave through the opening used for millennia via Houchins Narrows to reach the Great Rotunda, one of the largest rooms at Mammoth Cave.

The Great Rotunda was site of the saltpeter-mining operations that helped the United States thwart Great Britain in the War of 1812. The works are still preserved after two centuries. This is but one of the highlights of cave history here."
