    Birmingham Ferry Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This campground may be primitive, but it is on the water, and seasonal sites are available through a lottery. Contact the forest supervisor’s office above for more details. Anglers and pleasure boaters will find it convenient to pull their boat to the bank. The parking aprons and interior roads are gravel. An RV waste station, with potable water, is available at the North Welcome Station on KY 453 for no fee. RVs can turn around at the end of the campground in the parking area above the boat ramp. Sites 26 through 29 are in an area beyond this turnaround; those in RVs should not attempt to access these sites. All pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times.

This area is not far from the bison and elk viewing areas. There are a lot of forest service roads in this area, but not all are open to the public. If you plan on viewing the wild game, visit the ranger station and obtain a map showing the roads that are open. An open gate does not mean that road is open to the public, and traveling closed roads could result in a citation.
