Kleber Wildlife Management Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This walk on an attractive old roadbed follows a modest creek and makes a short side trip to a hilltop vista. The state’s John A. Kleber Wildlife Management Area covers 2,605 acres of hills and bottomlands in rural Owen and Franklin Counties about halfway between Frankfort and Owenton.

The rolling terrain is covered with a mixture of brush, grassland, and woods—a habitat that attracts a variety of birds along with deer, raccoons, and groundhogs. The wildlife area is named for a Frankfort resident who left money in his will to help the state buy the initial acreage in the early 1950s."
