3 Stars for three reasons = Overlook of KY River, Grist Mill & Raven Run stream, and COPPERHEAD ! My first site of a copperhead since I was a boy. It struck at me twice - probaby because I made it move out of my path with my walking stick; great pictures. A lot of brush cutting going on and not much else other than a good workout. Avoid weekends!

Raven Run Nature Sanctuary.
Just twenty minutes south of one of Kentucky's largest cities, Raven Run has a trail system with some nice variety to it. There is the Meadow Trail that is about 2 miles round-trip which is used by locals as a nice running path as well as several loop trails.
Tha trails are well-blazed and take you through one of Kentucky's oldest limestone gorges and over bluffs along the Kentucky River. However, the "overlook" is not very scenic due to the mass of trees between you and the river.
At the trail head is the nature center where you can learn about the different varieties of plants and animals common to the area, including the common wildcat and the timber rattler.
