We didn't actually hike the Pennyrile trail. We hiked the Lake Trail, Cane Trail, and another one that I can't remember the name of, but they all start right around the lodge. Overall I thought it was a great place to go. The trails were moderately strenuous,circled the lake, and gave some amazing views. They were well maintained and marked. Though we didn't stay the night the lodge seemed like a nice place to choose...
