Raymer Hollow Trail

Raymer Hollow Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Raymer Hollow Trail starts all by itself on the north side of Maple Springs Loop Road. It then winds its way along the upper watershed of Dry Prong Buffalo Creek. Raymer Hollow backcountry campsite is located along the trail at 4.3 miles. The path leaves Maple Springs Road 0.6 mile north of the Maple Springs Trailhead, the primary jumping-off point for backcountry users. Pass around a pole gate and follow an old roadbed in an upland hardwood forest dotted with cedar. The wide track tops a hill then dips to cross a small stream. A homesite sits immediately to the right of the trail beyond the creek.

The hollow to your left drops off steeply. As you walk the old road, note the larger trees along its margin. They may have shaded a wagon or two in days gone by.The highlights include Waterfalls, settler cemetery, and Raymer Hollow backcountry campsite. The trail sees moderate use and its condition is mostly good."
