Kenlake State Resort Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Kenlake State Resort campground is located along the shore of Kentucky Lake near the Eggner Ferry Bridge, making this location one of the easiest to find and get into and out of. This accessibility is one of the reasons the campground is so popular. A few campsites (64−67 and 24−26) are near the water. Some others have lake views, but the ones I listed are what I call lakefront—where you can pull up your boat and see it from your camp. The bathhouse/restrooms are in the first loop, making it a little walk from the lakefront sites. The sites are paved and drive-in and have good shade. If there’s a drawback to this campground, it would be the traffic—cars and trucks seemed to be going around my loop one after another until well after the sun went down.

However, the evenings did get quiet by about 9 p.m. The fishing is very good in this section, and people fishing from the bank have a good chance of catching something. Bass, crappie, and catfish are just a few of the fish species found in abundance here. In fact, the crappie fishing on this lake is about as good as it gets in the state. A host of bass and crappie guides are available if want to book a day on the water."
