John Muir Trail

John Muir Trail is a hiking and horse trail in Madera County and Fresno County, California. It is within John Muir Wilderness, Devils Postpile National Monument, Ansel Adams Wilderness, and Inyo National Forest. It is 40.9 miles long and begins at 8,340 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 82.5 miles with a total elevation gain of 20,098 feet. The firepit and stream near by camp site can be seen along the trail. There are also a spring, meadows, and a wetland along the trail. This trail connects with the following: Pack Trail, Pack Trail, 27e10 and Pack Trail.
