I did Cope Hollow and the Peninsula trail to make an 18 mile hike (I wanted to make the drive from Indy worthwhile). It wasn't a bad hike. I like many elevation changes in my hikes, and there weren't many in this one. The first 3.5 miles are all along the access road. There isn't much traffic, but you can see the road at almost all times. Then the trail crosses the road and heads into the hollow. The hollow was very picturesque, and would probably be moreso when spring breaks. Be warned it's a horse trail. I didn't see any horses but from the trail condition I can see it gets quite a bit of horse traffic. That's why I do horse trail hikes on cold winter days!
