Oriole Trails West

Oriole Trails West Professional Review and Guide

"Located in Hoosier National Forest, about 4 miles south of I-64 on IN 66. This trail is much more fun ridden counterclockwise. The amount of effort put into the climbing doesn't seem like much of a price to pay for the big fun on the descent. The singletrack along and through the creek is wonderful and the technical weaving through tight trees near the end is great.

The crushed stone trail surface means Oriole West stays rideable when other trails are a ribbon of mud. The bad news: they're wide and not very aesthetically pleasing for the rider seeking singletrack. The good news: the best singletrack remains unmolested by the gravel truck. Oriole West packs everything any HNF trail offers into 1 compact little package: hills, technical sections, rip-roaring descents, pines, hardwoods, creek crossings. You name it, it's here."
