Indiana Dunes State Park Hike

Indiana Dunes State Park Hike Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This moderately challenging hike through the most beautiful landscape in the Midwest has something for everyone: a plethora of wildlife, varied topography, rich ecology, and dazzling views. The park itself is one of the most popular recreational destinations in the state thanks to its 3-mile beach, but this hike forges east, beyond the crowds, into a one-of-a-kind wilderness. The trail begins in a verdant oak woodland covering the backdunes before ascending the towering ridges overlooking Lake Michigan, where you may hear a phenomenon called “singing sand.” And make sure to keep an eye out for Diana of the Dunes, a local ghost whose legend dates back to the turn of the century."
