The Rose Island Loops nestle along Fourteenmile Creek in Charlestown State Park, an easy 20 miles north of downtown Louisville. Sharing the same trailhead, each loop passes through a small meadow before descending to the creek and back up again. In the spring, Fourteenmile Creek and adjacent tributaries yield spectacular waterside wildfl ower displays that include wild geranium, trillium, bluebells, bloodroot, and many rare species found only here.
