My ten year old son and I hiked this nice trail on a beautiful Sunday in June. We only saw one other person on the entire trail. The trail is mostly wooded with a couple of grassy stretches that follows the contours of the lake and there was very little elevation on the trail making this a flat, easy, and enjoyable half day hike. With a mileage of just a hair under six miles, but feeling less than that because of the easy terrain, it is a perfect hike for new Cub or Boy Scouts to get out and do their five mile hike. At the very end of the trail you cross Sulfur Fork Creek and find a great little crayfish hunting area my son loved. A great half day hike for Scouts, or families with children.
