Glidewell Mound Loop

Glidewell Mound Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Hike to an ancient mound built by prehistoric residents of the East Fork Whitewater Valley. The Adena Mounds, built around the time of Jesus, have weathered down and aren’t impressive themselves, but their mere presence impresses.

Beyond the mounds, pass a pond to reach a decision point—the long loop or the short loop? Of course, we’ll take the long loop. The hike commences dropping 200 feet to Brookville Lake. Here, you will soak in near and far views of the impoundment. What goes down must come up, and you leave the lake, climbing back to the trailhead."
