Didn't even know this place existed until today. Hiked with a friend. One other person on the trail (with her dog) while we were there. Living nearby, she had hiked here many times before, so it was reassuring to us that she was close by in case we needed help. Beautiful trees, challenging (for beginners) trails and gorgeous weather thrown in for good measure. An altogether exhilarating day!
There were many, many downed trees which the experienced hiker told us was rather recent. Where the larger fallen trees crossed the trails, sections had been removed to allow easy passage.
The only wildlife we saw was chipmunks--very few birds around when we were there.
