The Salt Creek Trail is a fun, winding route that passes through a series of forest preserves straddling Cook and DuPage Counties. While much of the route closely follows the arboreal banks of Salt Creek, you’ll frequently meander through the adjoining floodplain among tangles of deadfall and stands of shrubs. The final leg of the route introduces you to the islands, high banks, and dense woodlands of Fullersburg Forest Preserve, one of the most eye-catching parks in DuPage County. Difficulty: Despite the occasionally rolling terrain, the trail is mostly easy.
