Prophetstown State Park

Prophetstown State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Once the site of a Native American village, this fifty-three-acre park on the shore of the Rock River is located at the edge of the small village of Prophetstown. Stately specimens of maple, cottonwood, oak, walnut, and locust trees shade the open camping area.

Some of the best campsites are located close to the river. Coon Creek wriggles through the park’s flat bottomland terrain toward its rendezvous with the Rock River. Within the small downtown area of Prophetstown, keep an eye out for the series of murals depicting scenes from the town’s history."
