Devils Kitchen Campground Professional Review and Guide
"The campground at Devil’s Kitchen Lake has been around for a while—but it is also brandnew. It was formerly a 45-site RV campground privately operated under license from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, which owns the almost 44,000 acres of Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge in which the campground is located. In 2006, however, Fish & Wildlife decided to assume direct management and return the area to a more primitive state, allowing only tent camping. It was closed in 2007 and 2008 for remodeling and will reopen in the spring of 2009 as a small, quiet campground surrounded by rocky outcroppings on a scenic, tree-lined lake."
