Sam Dale Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area Professional Review and Guide
"Sassafras Point Campground at Sam Dale Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area ranks very high on my list of near-perfect tent spots in a state park. It’s completely separate from the RV campgrounds— it’s on the opposite side of the lake, in fact. And it’s scenic, being out on a point, meaning there’s water on three sides. Its 21 walk-in sites are spread out, not in a line, with most just far enough from parking to attract only those who are passionate about privacy. Throw in a free beach for swimming, and you have an ideal place for a relaxed getaway."
