Fox River South

Fox River South Professional Review and Guide

"The southern section of the Fox River Trail is a popular haven for Illinois locals and Chicago cityfolk. More popular than the northern section due to attractions like windmills, Japanese gardens, and the many trails that it links up to, the southern section of Fox River tends to draw crowds.

You're high up on the banks of the Fox River, where, quite possibly, you'll enjoy the best view of the day near the Tekakwitha Woods Nature Center. This sixty-five-acre preserve has trails and an interpretive center. Things to see: Windmill, Japanese Gardens, nature center."

Best biking in the western suburbs of chicago. You are literally feet from the river most of the way from Illinois Avenue in Aurora to Elgin, going back and forth over the Fox River several times. There are parks, resturants, museums, art shows and other activities to do while biking. You are usually riding in the coolness of shade since the trail runs thru several forest preserves. I would venture to say if it is not already one of the best trails in the country, it should be. Tom
