Opossum Creek Recreation Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Opossum Creek is one of the smaller camping areas on Lake Shelbyville; it’s also one of the closest camping spots to the town of Shelbyville. The oak- and hickorycanopied campsites occupy a series of small peninsulas jutting into the lake.

Many campsites are perched on modest-sized bluffs that offer fine views of the enormous lake and the nearby rolling terrain. Shelbyville hosts several attractive parks, a historic courthouse and library, and an old-time downtown movie theater."
