South Markham Recreation Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This attractive campground features gently rolling terrain, groves of pine trees, and a small pond with a hiking trail around it. The campsites are well shaded and mostly open. Many sit on grassy banks above Rend Lake, and some occupy 50-foot bluffs overlooking the lake.

RVs are the main focus here, but there is also a collection of walk-in tent camping sites on a peninsula that juts out into the lake. The campground is within walking distance of the dam, which provides top-notch views of the 18,900-acre lake."
