The first and final parts of this ride follow the wonderfully scenic Vadalabene Great River Road Trail as it hugs the shore of the Mississippi River between the town of Alton and Pere Marquette State Park. When you reach the state park, you’ll climb a bluff that resembles more of a vertical wall than a big hill. After the park, winding rural roads guide you through a rolling—and often hilly—landscape of quiet rural bliss.
