National Forest Development Road 278 is a hiking, biking, and horse trail in Bonner County, Idaho. It is within Idaho Panhandle National Forests. It is 1.8 miles long and begins at 2,511 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 3.5 miles with a total elevation gain of 907 feet. The Vulcan Mine (elevation 3,081 feet) quarry can be seen along the trail.
