Winchester Lake State Park

Winchester Lake State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The lake is regularly stocked with rainbow trout, and fishing is popular as a result. (Don’t try running a motor on your boat, however; they’re prohibited on this smallish lake.) Several camping loops are located on the west side of the lake. A boat launch is nearby, and nature trails run all the way around the lake.

Of the seventy-three camping sites available in the summer, fifty have electric and water hookups; none of the twenty-three winter units are so equipped. An unusual provision of Winchester is “yurt camping.” The park maintains a collection of four yurts, domelike structures (similar in design to those in China and Mongolia) with doors and windows and furniture inside. The yurts can be rented year-round."
