Trap Creek

Trap Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Trap Creek is a small, wooded, mountain campground on the northwest edge of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Close to Banner Summit (which often snows in solidly for part of the winter), this is one of the highest-elevation campgrounds in the Stanley area and may have one of the shorter camping seasons.

Because it is relatively distant from Stanley and not located on a lake, however, it may be relatively easy to snag a site here, as opposed to some of the other closer- in and lake- fronted campgrounds. A bit unusual for campgrounds, campers park in one general parking lot and carry their belongings to their camping spot."
