Redfish Lake

Redfish Lake Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"You could make a good argument that this is the single most popular public campground in the state of Idaho. And yes, Redfish Lake deserves its reputation as one of America’s premier camping locations, for the scenery alone. The lake—the largest in central Idaho—is as pretty as any in Idaho, and the sight of one of the most majestic of the Sawtooth Mountains (Mount Heyburn) towering over it really does inspire awe. It is also one of the best-provisioned camping areas in Idaho.

There’s a good restaurant, plus laundry, a couple of convenience stores, a gas station, a children’s playground, and much more. The Redfish Lodge is also much in demand; information about it can be found at the website, redfishlake .com, or by calling (208) 774-3536. The beachfront area alone is a prize (though it tends to be packed with sun worshippers)."
