Custer No. 1 Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Finding the campground: From Stanley drive 14.5 miles northeast on ID 75 to Sunbeam, then north past Blind Creek Campground another 7 miles on FR 013 (the Yankee Fork Road and Custer Motorway), and then 3 miles northeast on FR 070.

The campground: This is a relatively primitive site, with no water and only vault toilets for facilities. However, the forest service calls it a “little used campground that sits in timber along the road. Ideal for large groups. Interesting rock formations along the river side.” The forested location along the Yankee Fork River is pretty. There is also the old mining boom town of Custer and a museum in walking distance."
