Pettit Lake

Pettit Lake Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Fittingly for its name, Pettit Lake is the smallest and probably least known of the string of Stanley Basin lakes, but it is also plenty busy at times. Because this campground is first come, first served, be sure to arrive here early—well in advance of the weekend.

What you get is a richly wooded and mildly hilly landscape on the north side of the lake, only about 4 miles from the east side of the Sawtooth Wilderness Area. That means that some of the best (if sometimes exhausting) hiking opportunities in the state open up here."
