Warm River Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The smallest incorporated city in Idaho is Warm River; censuses have placed its population at between two and eleven in recent decades. The reason it became a city has to do with a private resort facility located here, within easy walking distance of the forest service campground (which came later). The campground sits in a sunny valley amid shade trees, next to the slow- running Warm River.

It is slow here, and shallow and warm enough that anglers often wade into the middle of it for their fly fishing. Children can rent inner tubes nearby and slowly float the river as well. The campground has a ramp useful for anglers who have disabilities. The camp is also an entry point for a long trail, based on an abandoned railroad bed, which runs all the way to West Yellowstone, Montana."
