The Stick in the Sky

The Stick in the Sky Professional Review and Guide

"Riders who like to punish themselves will find this ride to be delightful. Cool views of Owyhee Mountains from the Stick in the Sky. It is a raging downhill on the Wildcat Ridge.

This ride is truly a climber’s special. After several miles of climbing, riders will see a lone radar tower off in the distance, which is the summit of the ride. Hence, my comrades and I decided to call the ride the Stick in the Sky. Another nice benefit about the Stick is that it’s really close to the Treasure Valley: it’s an easy day trip to bag this ride in an afternoon and still be home for supper on time. All of the climbing is worthwhile, however, because the downhill doubletrack is a straight shot down a broad sagebrush ridge, making it seem as though you can really let ’er rip.

Located 13 miles southwest of Marsing. Tread: 14.7 miles of doubletrack, 2.3 miles of pavement."
