Barney’s/Riverside/Cozy Cove

Barney’s/Riverside/Cozy Cove Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"These three similar campgrounds are bunched together on the east side of Deadwood Reservoir, a remote but popular camping location. No services are provided at any of these campgrounds, but they make up for all this with their pristine setting and a fine lakeside location. The area has the scenery of Redfish or Warm Lakes without the crowds and the semiurban development. Cozy Cove, the southernmost, is also the largest and has a boat ramp, plus a great view of Wild Buck Peak through the lodgepole pines.

The heaviest use, and the most competition for spaces, probably is at Riverside on the north end of the lake, which is a favorite for fishing. Several hand pumps have been added to the campgrounds, but bringing your own water is advised."
