Meadow Lake Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Meadow Lake is one of this guide’s top camping recommendations for those who want a great view with relatively small crowds. It is a contender for highest elevation of any Idaho campground—and one of the most stunning views for those hardy souls who get there. Mountain goats, rarely seen around much of Idaho, can periodically be spotted above the lake here.
Meadows Lake is relatively shallow but pristine; if its mountains (Meadow Lake Peak, at 10,720 feet, presides over the waterfront) and lake are smaller than, say, Redfish Lake farther west, they are no less attractive, and far fewer people come here. Fishing is popular in the summer once 3,000 rainbow trout are stocked in the lake. This is the only public fee campground in the Leadore area."
