Buffalo Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Buffalo is by far the largest public campground in this region of Idaho, and it is well equipped to handle large numbers of people. Unlike the other sites in the area, sporting facilities (such as volleyball nets and fields) are available here, and one of the seven loops (E loop) is a single group site suitable for as many as 150 people.

Another loop here (C loop) offers electric power hookups, unusual for a forest service campground. An amphitheater near the campground entrance is often used for night events during the summer. The campground also has a manager, located near the entrance at US 20. With a well- shaded location near the Buffalo River, which is used for floating and fishing, it doesn’t skimp on scenery either."
