English Point Red Loop

English Point Red Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Red Loop Trail is a very pleasant hike through widely diverse second-growth forest, with a couple of viewpoints thrown in for good measure. This is a good hike for all but the smallest children (unless they are in a kiddy pack).

The Gray Loop Trail and the Red Loop Trail follow the same route for the first 0.4 and the last 0.3 mile of this hike. Walk east from the parking area, through the gate. After passing the gate, quickly bear left. The route descends very gently through the Douglas fir and ponderosa pine woods. The trail is in great condition, with rubber water bars every few yards to prevent erosion."

The map on the reader board at the trailhead or the map in this book should be all that is needed. The USGS Hayden Lake quad covers the area. The National Geographic Idaho topo on CD- ROM covers the area but shows these trails somewhat inaccurately.
