Hot Springs Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"From the Banks-Lowman Highway (ID 17), you see Hot Springs as a large parking lot stuck incongruously in the woods; this is one of the newer campgrounds in the area. But it has two distinct assets that are evident on close inspection. One is the South Fork of the Payette River, which roars just across the highway from the campground; this place is a favorite for boaters to put in the river. (Kayaks and rafts sometimes seem to reach traffic-jam levels.)

The other is the hot springs themselves, located nearby. Fishing (especially for rainbow trout) and hunting also are activities for which Hot Springs is a good jumping-off point. The campground has an on-site manager. Six of the sites are pull-throughs. As the name indicates, hot springs and pools are in the area; use caution, because some are very hot."
