On the River Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The manager says this isn’t even a gray area—this campground is private and operated without governmental involvement. It looks and feels and is set up like a fully modern, private- style campground, oriented mainly toward—but not limited to—visitors to or exhibitors at the Western Idaho Fairgrounds, which is located next door. (During the weeks of the fair in August, this campground generally is booked far in advance.)
However, it is located on Ada County land (which is leased), and the county informally considers it a county campground. In appearance, it is partly sunny, partly shady, in a nicely secluded area on the south bank of the Boise River, in the middle of the Ada County urban area. The Boise River Greenbelt runs next to the campground, and it extends next to the river for miles west and east of the city. It is one of the few campgrounds in this book to offer Wi- Fi."
