Abbot/Baumgartner/Chaparral/Willow Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Abbot is east of Featherville on the South Fork of the Boise River. Baumgartner, Chaparral, and Willow Creek are separate campgrounds but located near one another, all on the Middle Fork of the Boise River. These campgrounds do have drinking water but few other commercial amenities; tenting (rather than RVing) is recommended here.

The natural amenities compensate: This is one of Idaho’s best fly- fishing areas (though not one of its best known). The landscape in this region is lushly forested, and the atmosphere high mountain. Many visitors find it one of Idaho’s premier getaways. Pets are allowed."
