Lower Meadow Creek

Lower Meadow Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This popular national recreation trail showcases the tranquil beauty of the Meadow Creek roadless area, a labyrinth of forested canyons contiguous with the southwestern margin of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. The first 5 miles were extensively affected by the Slims Fire of 2003 but still provide a pleasant day hike that is usually snow-free from April to November.

One unique feature of this trail is the Meadow Creek Guard Station, available for private rental if you make reservations. The wellequipped station offers cabin accommodations for eight—indoor plumbing and a propane-powered refrigerator are among the amenities included at no extra charge. Those interested in renting the guard station should contact Fenn Ranger Station for further details."
