Lake Cascade State Park/Northwest Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"These five campgrounds—Poison Creek, West Mountain, Buttercup, Curlew, and Huckleberry—are all bunched closely together, several of them separated only by a fence and a name, and they are almost identical in appearance and services. Generally, they are well-manicured parks with some planted trees and bushes and mowed lawns, not forested (the way the nearby forest service campgrounds, such as Amanita, are).
The trade-off is modern facilities (most are relatively new campgrounds) and a terrific view of Lake Cascade, looking across to Donnelly and the farmland and mountains beyond. Hiking trails are generally available through the area. Note that the Curlew site, unlike the others, is a tents-only campground."
