Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Northeast of Coeur d’Alene is a region relatively few people traverse; though not far from a large metro area, these mountains (Monument Mountain is southeast of the campground) are relatively lightly visited. They’re good getaway spots close to a busy metro area The area is quiet and thickly wooded. Dogs allowed on leash.

Finding the campground: From the east end of Sherman Avenue in downtown Coeur d’Alene, drive 11 miles northeast on Fernan Lake Road (which becomes FR 268), then 11 miles east on FR 612."
