Fourth of July Pass Outer Loop

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Fourth of July Pass Outer Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Hike mostly on abandoned roadbeds that are reverting nicely to trails, through the dense and diverse midmountain forest just south of Fourth of July Pass. Grouse are common along this route and there are elk and moose sign nearly everywhere.

Under-control dogs are allowed in the summer and fall; however, there are moose in this area that may not be friendly to dogs. Mountain bikers also use these trails. This is not a good hike to take when it’s raining or shortly thereafter. In many places bushes and small trees crowd the track, and if they are wet, you will be too."
