This route is a very pleasant hike through the woodlands close to Fourth of July Pass. This entire hike follows roadbeds that are closed to motor vehicles and kept widely cleared for cross-country skiers. Under-control dogs are OK in the summer and fall. Mountain bikers also use these trails. There are moose in this area, and they may not take to kindly to barking dogs. A parking fee is charged during the ski season.
