Hike along the marsh at the head of Cougar Bay on the northwest shore of Lake Coeur d’Alene. Then climb a short distance up the forested north-facing slope above it for your return trip. Take your time and watch for waterfowl, shorebirds, and other wildlife, which could even include a moose. This trail is open to hikers only. Dogs must be under close control. There is room for several vehicles at the parking area, but no other facilities.
