The Blackwell Island Wetland Trail is a short stroll through an interesting wetland area next to the Spokane River, a short distance south of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The area gets its name from the Blackwell Lumber Company, which had a mill close to here from 1909 to 1937. This mill was for a time one of the largest lumber producers in the region.
