Bayhorse Lake

Bayhorse Lake Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Bayhorse Lake is not to be confused with the other Bayhorse; among other things, this one is much more remarkable. It is one of the highest- elevation campgrounds in Idaho (take note of the late- starting season), with one of the most dramatic locations of any campground in the state. There are actually two lakes here, Big and Little Bayhorse, and a number of other streams as well; all are superb fishing areas.

For the pure, high—very high—mountain-country experience, this campground will do very well. If you’re planning a weekend here, though, get in early: This is a popular location, for obvious reasons, and it’s not on the reservation system. Also be advised to bring your own drinking water; the campground has none."
